Types of Massage
Orthopedic: A broad spectrum of techniques is used to treat soft tissue dysfunction associated with the musculoskeletal system. This comprehensive approach is an integration of trigger point therapy, deep transverse frictioning, myofascial and muscle energy techniques to treat pain and injuries.
Sports Massage: Deep tissue massage with stretches focusing on specific regions of the body most commonly stressed by athletic activities. Helps to increase range of motion, restore mobility to injured muscle tissue, prevent additional injuries and enhance future performance. Not limited to the serious athlete, this type of massage is appropriate for anyone plagued by repetitive movement pain and discomfort.
Swedish: A full body massage with long, gliding strokes designed to warm the muscles, increase circulation, relieve tension and promote an overall sense of well-being.
Pregnancy: This prenatal massage is designed to relax, pamper and eliminate many of the adverse effects of stress and the discomfort it creates. The BodyCushion TM system is used to provide necessary and safe support during this treatment. Lou Ann has earned certification in the Elaine Stillerman MotherMassage TM course of study.
