PRO CAMP/COLLEGIATE:

To take advantage of group dynamics, energy, and motivation, workouts will be performed in Small Groups.  However, workout programs will be individualized, via an initial assessment.  This will allow players to focus on the things most important to their development, while addressing universal hockey parameters.  We will have times allocated for advanced assessments such as visual performance, functional movement screenings, postural analysis, nutrition evaluations, and position-specific analysis.

The first three weeks, players will meet in our state-of-the-art weight room for strength training.  This will include the use of Olympic / Hi Velocity weightlifting, traditional power lifts and their variations, and functional exercises emphasizing force production, and equally important, force reduction and stabilization.  Plyometrics, jump training, medicine ball exercises, and other forms of explosive movement will be incorporated into these days.

A major emphasis will be placed on movement awareness, speed development, and neuromuscular integration, at each session.  Rhythm, tempo, and balance will be emphasized at every session.  Believe it, or not, a common theme will be to develop hockey players that move like football running backs.  If we can develop that type athleticism and transfer it onto the ice, hockey skill levels will improve, dramatically.

Once a week, we will incorporate elements of combat training.  These are components that we use with our TSAC (Tactical Strength and Conditioning) athletes, MMA fighters, Boxers, and Martial Artists.  Components of their regimens have proven very beneficial in developing on-ice movement, greater work capacity and endurance, as well as confidence.

The final day will be conducted at our Premiere indoor playing field (Wide World of Indoor Sports).  This facility houses 80,000 square feet of turf that will be used for metabolic conditioning, increasing work capacity, and increasing speed / power.  We will use various sleds, plates, med balls, tires, bags, tubes, ropes, assisitive cords, and resisitive devices, on these days.

Dryland activities emphasizing stick handling skills, shooting, and passing can be incorporated into a pre-warm ups and cool downs.  This ice-less rink includes a net with shooting radar, soft style agility stick handling ladders, and passing devices needed to fine tune these important on-ice skills.

Athletic training services such as hydroculator packs, ice packs, massage sticks, and, even, e-stim / ultrasound / EMS units, when appropriate, are available for pre-skate preparedness and post skate recovery.  A massage therapist will be available, on-site, specified days, for recovery and corrective techniques.

Nutrition and supplementation will be addressed in a classroom setting on designated days.  Our Registered Dietitian will be available on an appointment basis, for those needing individualized meal planning.
